Rose Roche conjures up the imaginary fragrance of the desert rose: an encounter between lemon, centifolia rose and patchouli notes. A potent fragrance with a lingering sillage, its name playing on the contrast between the vegetable – transient, delicate – and the mineral – eternal. On the bottle, this timeless and unique rose is sketched out in fine black lines. It appears again on the sleeve, this time emerging in subtle shades of pink.

Story

Diptyque has always drawn inspiration from nature, whether in the wild or tamed by man. Nature enchants our gaze. It stirs our curiosity, feeds our creativity.

The Maison's new collection, Les Essences de Diptyque (The Essences of Diptyque), freely reinterprets the treasures of nature, fluctuating between the realistic and the fantastical. Revealed in all their beauty, these treasures invite us to pause and admire them.

Delicate, dreamlike, the five compositions in this collection are the product of an alliance between the perfumer's nose and the hand of an artist. Each creation celebrates one of nature's treasures – reinventing it in fragrance and exceptional drawings.

Rose Roche evokes the desert rose, a bloom shaped by air, water and the sun. Exposed to the winds of the desert, over time this mineral, crystalline flower develops its graphic and distinctive contours.

Combining the work of perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin with that of drawing artist Nigel Peake, this olfactory and visual composition breathes life into a timeless rose revered as a masterpiece of accidental precision.

"This fragrance was inspired by the winds that shape the desert sands, their unexpected precision over time. I wanted to capture the primal heat of the blistering desert winds with a scent reminiscent of hot, mineral sand. I infused this rose-heavy floral with contrast, lacing the sparkling lightness of citrus fruits with deep, textured patchouli."
