Directions for use

An exceptional artisanal creation, your Diptyque candle deserves the utmost care.
Here are a few tips to optimize its lifespan and to help you enjoy it safely.

Prepare your space
- Place your candle on a flat, heat-resistant surface.
- Protect delicate materials such as wood or marble with a stand or tray.
- Keep candles away from flammable materials.
- Keep candles out of reach of children and pets.
- Choose a sufficiently large space or burn outside.

Light the candle
- We recommend lighting your candle with a match to avoid any risk of burning yourself.
- During the first burn, make sure to let the candle burn until a uniform pool of melted wax has formed (about 4 hours depending on the scent). This prevents the wax from tunneling and allows the wicks to absorb the wax properly, ensuring an even burn thereafter. Wicks may produce a small amount of smoke when first lit.

While burning
- Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time after the first burn.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended.
- Do not move a burning or unlit hot candle.
- Keep it away from draft.
- Leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) between two candles.

After each use
- Snuff out the flames: use a snuffer to avoid splashing hot wax.
- Re-center the wicks once the candle is out.
- Before relighting your candle, use a wick trimmer to trim the wick (ideal length: 3 to 5 mm) to avoid risk of fire.

Final note
- Stop using your candle once there is only 5 mm of wax left or the metal wick sustainer base becomes visible.

After care & storage
- We recommend airing out the room after burning a candle.
- Allow the wax to cool completely before moving your candle.
- Store it in a dry, temperate place (15 °C–25 °C / 59 °F–77 °F), away from direct sunlight to avoid discoloration, pigmentation or dislodge of the wax.

Story

This summer, Diptyque invites you to a refreshing, sensorial escape at the heart of a water garden. A place paved with ancient stones and shaded by umbrella pines, where flowering shrubs mingle with blossoming orange trees. Majestic fountains release crystal-clear water, their droplets suspended in the air, shimmering and sparkling beneath the bright sun. Every sense is awakened.

To bring this summer scene to life, Diptyque turned to the exceptional artistry of Mathilde Jonquière, to create a collection of original mosaic works. Inspired by summer water garden landscapes, the mosaic artist imagines and composes frescoes by meticulously arranging tesserae of Venetian enamels, glass paste and gold. Featured on limited-edition bottles and boxes of the collection, these designs capture the poetry of the moment, like a mirror reflecting the freshness of a lush, sunlit garden.

Nestled in the Aveiro region of Portugal, the NG Porcelanas manufactory has for over 20 years been upholding an exceptional artisanal know-how, crafting some of the most renowned porcelain in Europe. The traditional know-how of making azulejos, decorated ceramic tiles, continues to inspire the creation of contemporary pieces today. Creating unique pieces, period reproductions, and custom-made orders, the master porcelain makers are the ambassadors of a living heritage, demonstrating infinite precision and meticulousness.

Ceramic craftsmanship

Diptyque entrusts the creation of its Very Large candle vessels to exceptional ceramists. The material, chosen for its raw and artisanal quality, bears the Maison’s iconic oval. Modeled, glazed, and fired at high temperatures, it reveals a unique finish—the result of the fusion between clay and glaze.
